The qualification regulators, JCQ and government departments responsible for education have prepared and agreed information for schools and colleges in the event of examinations being seriously disrupted. This jointly agreed information will ensure consistency of response in the event of major disruption to the examinations system affecting significant numbers of candidates. 

The awarding bodies have therefore introduced one additional half-day contingency session, this will be on Wednesday 11 June 2025. A full day on Wednesday 25 June 2025 has also been scheduled as a contingency day for examinations.

Contingency days are designed to be used in the unlikely event of national or significant local disruption to exams. This means holidays must not be booked before Wednesday 25 June 2025.
