KS3

In KS3 students in year 7 will develop their basic skills and physical fitness levels specific to the sports they are focussing on. Throughout each half term students will complete a block of two sports. Within each of these sports students will develop their skills in a range of isolated and conditioned practices.

In year 8 students are challenged to apply the skills they learnt and developed across year 7 whilst further improving their physical fitness levels. They will be expected to enhance their knowledge of the rules and continue to apply them in competitive situations. There is an emphasis on decision making assessed across a variety of scenarios, conditioned games and matches designed to challenge our students' thought processes, giving them the opportunity to think tactically about their choices of skills that they use in different situations.

In year 9 students will focus on mastering skills and demonstrating them effectively in fully competitive situations. Students will continue to show high levels of physical fitness and demonstrate the essential social values expected of them pre, during and post-lesson time.
